Make Your Own Cupcakes For Halloween - Our Favourite Tips
According to Wikipedia, the first celebration of Halloween occurred during the ancient times. This date is believed to mark the end of harvest season and the beginning of another year (according to Celtic tradition). The festival coincides with meticulous examination of the crops stored for the long winter months ahead. During those days, damaged crops or poor yield was attributed to the malevolent activity of dead souls. Thus, the ancient people built bonfires to scare these souls away. They would also disguise themselves as ghosts and creatures of the night to "fool" or please the bad spirits.
With the advent of rational thought, it seems hard to believe that the dead truly walks among the living for one night only. These days, Halloween may coincide with the commemoration of departed souls (for some religions) or just a great occasion to have fun.
It is never bad to get into the spirit of Halloween yourself by putting up some decorations around your home or preparing Halloween-themed food. And what better dessert can you serve your guests other than beautifully-created and delicious cupcakes? The whole cupcake is your canvas, so get your tools and keep these tips in mind to create your own Halloween Cupcake!
Tips:
Remember that the whole cupcake is your canvas. You can cut the cupcake into round-ish shapes and use the power of food coloring and piping to create a little jack-o-lantern cupcake. By using other edible props, you can create a cupcake that looks like a daddy longlegs spider. Purchase a couple of thin licorice sticks and candies that look like eyes (or M&M's can be fine). Put the candies on the surface of the cupcake and stick 4 licorice sticks to each side. Bend the sticks a bit so that it will imitate bent spider legs. You can also make pumpkin-flavored cupcakes to celebrate the occasion. Just add some cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and mashed pumpkin to your basic cupcake mixture. Adjust the measurements of these new ingredients according to taste.
Halloween is just around the corner! Make this Halloween especially memorable by making themed cupcakes. Discover how easy it is to Make Your Own Cupcakes for Halloween with simple tips and great advice.

How to Make Cupcakes From Scratch
Is there anyone who doesn't love a cupcake? These scrumptious little morsels are just right for any occasion from children's birthday parties to elegant high teas, engagement parties and weddings. The great thing about cupcakes is that they are so easy, anyone can make them. The techniques are simple and only require basic kitchen equipment. Once you have mastered the basics of cupcake making, you can add other ingredients and flavourings to create different variations.
The ingredients you will need are:
160g (5 1/2 oz) butter, chopped, at room temperature 3/4 cup caster sugar 2 teaspoon vanilla essence 3 eggs 1 1/3 cups self-raising flour, sifted 2 tablespoons milk
Start by beating together the butter and sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. This should be done by an electric mixer until the mixture lightens in colour. Add the vanilla essence and the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Remove the bowl from the mixer and gradually add the sifted flour alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour. Carefully fold the flour into the mixture with a metal spoon, taking care to avoid over mixing. The mixture should be just smooth.
Spoon the mixture into the paper cupcake cases. To ensure the cases retain their shape place them into muffin tins. If you wish to decorate your cupcakes afterwards, only three quarters fill the cupcake cases.
The cupcakes should then be baked in a pre-heated oven at 160oC (315oF) for 15-20 minutes. For best results do not open the oven door during cooking to ensure they rise well. The cupcakes are cooked when lightly browned and spring back when touched with a finger. Remove from oven, place on wire racks and allow to cool completely.
Now it's time to ice and decorate your cupcakes and you are only limited by your own imagination.

Make Your Own Cupcakes the Easy Way
Sometimes, cupcakes are a better option as opposed to full-fledged cakes. If you're expecting to host a birthday party and you're worried that the fancy, expensive cake you bought won't really satisfy the guests, try making some cupcakes of your own. These pastries are extremely easy to make and it gives you a lot of room to experiment. Plus, you can even tap into your inner artist and decorate these cupcakes in your own style.
The two most basic cupcakes are the vanilla cupcake and the chocolate cupcake. In both, you will need 5 ounces (or 150 grams) of butter, 5 ounces (or 150 grams) of super-fine sugar (also called castor sugar), 6 ounces (or 175 grams) of self-raising flour, 3 eggs, and vanilla extract. In chocolate cupcakes, you only need to add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
In both recipes, you follow the same procedure: pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Farenheit (or 180 degrees Celsius). Line your cupcake pan with cupcake papers (this can easily be bought in any supermarket or baked goods store). In a large bowl, crack the eggs and beat them lightly using a fork. Combine the eggs with all of the other ingredients, and mix with an electric mixer for about 2 minutes or until they have achieved a creamy consistency. Gently pour the mixture into each of the cupcake cases, taking care not to let it spill over and to allot roughly the same amount of batter in each case. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until cupcakes are firm. Take it out of the oven and let it cool completely before frosting each one.
Some households don't have a working oven, but they have a working microwave. Guess what, you can 'bake' chocolate cupcakes using microwaves as well! You will only need about ? cup of flour, ? cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, ? teaspoon of soda, ? teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 and ? teaspoon of vinegar, ? teaspoon of vanilla, ? teaspoon of salt, ? cup of vegetable oil, and ? cup of water. This certainly seems like a lot, but trust me, the end product is all worth it.
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, cinnamon, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Carefully add the remaining ingredients (oil, water, vinegar, vanilla) and stir continuously until the consistency is smooth. Make sure that your cupcake pan is microwaveable. Line the cupcake cases with cupcake paper and pour the batter into each until the cases are all half-full. Set your microwave on 'High' and set the timer for 2-3 minutes. To avoid charring or leaving places uncooked, half-turn the microwave plate every minute.
Making cupcakes and cupcake frosting's has never been easier. Once you know what to do and how to do it, the rest will come easy. For excellent tips to help you Make Your Own Cupcakes, go to http://usabuytoday.com

Cupcakes - Create Multiple Flavors, Cupcake Cakes and More!
Cupcakes are great, but many are wondering how this little birthday and school room treat has come to create such a fuss. Not only are cupcake centric eateries springing up across the country, from home-style Magnolia Bakery on the East Coast to Sprinkles in Beverly Hills, but these once quaint cakes are being served everywhere - even at black tie events!
It's no secret that Hollywood's played a part, featuring cupcake shops in popular television shows, but the glory really goes to these miniature cakes.
Take flavor and colors for example. One dessert doesn't have to mean one flavor and look. A single batch of cupcakes can offer a rainbow of flavors and tinted icings, from lemon to hazelnut, from pretty pastels to vibrant tangerine and hot pink. Cupcakes are doing for many store-front bakeries what 31 Flavors did for ice-cream parlors.
And, there's so much you can do with cupcakes. As with cakes, you can add fillings, sculpt into fun designs and stack them.
While some of the upscale cupcake boutiques use expensive ingredients like Madagascar Bourbon vanilla, you don't have to go all out to create cupcakes fit for a special event like a wedding. Just be sure to use fresh and natural ingredients, such as butter and fresh fruit instead of margarine and frozen.
Cupcakes - Your own 31 Flavors
Here's how you can serve a variety of flavors and a palette of colors - all from a couple cupcake pans.
Divide white icing (snow-white buttercream or cream cheese) into separate dishes. Add flavor and food coloring to each dish. Due to the bitter taste of food coloring, don't use extra to achieve dark colors or red. Instead use a more intense form of coloring such as gel.
Cupcake Baking Tips
For two dozen cupcakes, make enough batter for two 9-inch cakes.
Bake in cupcake or muffin pans, and fill your liners 2/3 full.
Usually cupcakes are baked at 350? F (adjust for high altitude) and for around 23 minutes, give or take a few. Use the toothpick test.
As with other cakes, always cool completely before decorating.
Loose crumbs should be brushed off gently before icing.
Smooth icing with a knife and short strokes. Leave smooth or pipe a frosty swirl on top, depending how you want to decorate.
Decorating your Cupcakes
You can decorate your cupcakes with just about anything you use to decorate larger cakes. Some of the most popular cupcake decorations are grated coconut, gum drops, piped flowers and figures, shaved chocolate, whimsical designs created with candies - and of course sprinkles.
Filling Cupcakes
To fill a cupcake, cut out a cone from the top. Then place a teaspoon of filling inside. Before replacing the top, cut off its cone (since the space it filled is not filled with filling).
Cupcake Cakes
Also called pull-apart cakes, these are perfect for birthday parties and youth events. Each guest pulls off a cupcake. Serving's a cinch and clean-up's, well a piece of cake. And a great plus with little ones - everyone gets the same size serving!
You can sculpt a cupcake cake into just about any shape you can imagine: numbers (for birthday ages), sports (footballs, team logos and names, etc.) holiday figures, flowers, Easter baskets and bunnies, cats and dogs, well you get the picture. The shape doesn't have to be exact (and probably won't), but the decorating will add the realism.
Here's how it works:
Bake cupcakes in double liners (for extra strength).
Arrange baked cupcakes on a covered, sturdy cake board. Play around with this until you get the shape you want. Staggering works best, and keep them close together.
Dab icing onto the bottoms of the cupcake liners, returning them as you do to their original positions. The icing will, once it dries, help hold the cupcakes in position.
Crumb-coat. This is optional. Thin some icing or make a glaze. Spread over all the cupcakes. Crumbs will show, but that's ok. When it dries, the crumbs won't be swept up into your final coat of icing.
When the crumb coat has dried, smooth your regular icing over the whole cupcake cake.
Decorate!
Tip: If you have extra cupcakes, decorate to match, and place them on a separate plate. For example, Blue's paw print on each cupcake can accessorize a Blue's Clues cupcake cake.
Serving: Pull up and forward. If the cupcake is stuck, slide a knife under it
Cupcake Tier Cake
Tiered cupcake holders have become quite popular at weddings, birthdays and other special occasions. You can take this to a higher level of creativity by creating a tiered cupcake cake! Assemble wedding cake tiers (straight up in graduating sizes is easiest), and arrange cupcakes and accessories to create a complete look.
Here's another example of how you can work this cupcake magic. Create a Christmas tree by using cupcakes on the tiers as ornaments and tucking sprigs of pesticide-free pine needles between the cupcakes. On the top tier, place a tree topper surrounded by more cupcake ornaments.
Finally, one more cupcake tip. Cupcakes, if stored in freezer bags, will keep well in the freezer for up two months. Be sure to squeeze all the air out you can before sealing the bags. You can have a large variety of cake types and flavors on hand to thaw to decorate!

You can always make two basic varieties of cupcakes that will surely impress your guests: the simple Vanilla and Butter cupcake and the Chocolate cupcake. In both recipes, you will need about 5 ounces (or 150 grams) of butter, 5 ounces of sugar, about 6 ounces of flour (preferably the self-raising kind), and three eggs. Where to Find Organic Cupcakes
It is no secret that you can improve the taste of your cupcakes, by improving the quality of your ingredients. Have you ever considered making organic cupcakes? Organic ingredients are those made with no pesticides, insecticides or herbicides. Food that is organic is also to be free of food additives and processed with less artificial means. When making a batch of cupcakes, making them into organic cupcakes can assure that they are even more delightful.
It is increasingly easy to find organic ingredients. Many grocery stores carry them so you can buy them without any extra hassle. You can also go to a health food store where most of the items, if not all of them, will be organic. When you are looking for organic ingredients, just look for those that have the "certified organic" stamp on them. Organic ingredients cost a bit more than normal ingredients, but many people are convinced that they taste better. With that in mind, why not use all organic ingredients in your cupcake?
Making organic cupcakes is also an eco-friendly way to make a cupcake. Farms that create organic food don't emit pesticides into the environment. This means that the soil and water in the region will not be contaminated. Organic farms also produce less waste. Conventional farms have tons of packaging to dispose of from the chemicals they use. Since organic farms are chemical free, they don't produce as much waste. All these details mean that when you are filling your belly full of organic cupcakes, you can feel better about yourself and your eco-footprint.
There are also a variety of stores across the country, which make organic cupcakes. In Los Angeles, Sweet Debbie Organic Cupcakes delivers to people every day of the week. You can get your cupcake fix instantaneously and easily. Divine Cupcakes, based in Eugene Oregon also provides organic cupcakes. This company specializes in providing cupcakes for weddings. There is also Free for All Cupcakes, delivering gluten free cupcakes to people in the Washington DC metro area.
If you want to make organic cupcakes yourself, but want a mix to make things easier, you can try Arrowhead Mills Bake with Me Organic Cupcake Mix. This mix is certified organic. These particular cupcakes also have good levels of zinc, iron and B vitamins.
While there is a debate if you can tell the difference in taste between organic ingredients and non-organic counterparts, you can always try a test yourself and see if you can taste a difference. One way to do this is to buy regular milk and organic milk. Pour yourself and some friends or family members a glass of each milk and label the bottom of the glass. Now sample each type of milk and see which one you prefer. If it turns out you prefer organic milk, definitely consider using it from now on to make cupcakes. And if you choose all organic ingredients for your cupcakes, you will have made your first all-organic cupcake.

How to Make Cupcakes Quickly
There are several delicacies that keep a persisting hunger in us as always. These items or dishes are generally the all time favorites of people the world around. Cupcakes reserve a position right at the top amongst these items. This any time favorite to be had at breakfast or evening supper is what makes it so popular.
Well, foodies would disagree and say it is the taste that keeps them longing for more and not when you could have it because such an excellent tongue tickler is good time. Moreover what makes it even more likable is the comparative ease with which it can be prepared with the most common of ingredients and very quickly too. Therefore without further ado, we shall find out how to make cupcakes and once we are done preparing, will surely lounge and devour them happily without any regrets.
Cupcakes sometimes referred to as fairy cakes and are complete with frosting and other decorations. The process of making a cupcake is fairly simple and easy. It takes maybe an hour or a little more to prepare these cakes. Cupcakes come in a huge number of flavors enchanting people with each of its mouth watering treats. Some of the most sought after flavors are shamrock, blueberry, carrot, chocolate, butterscotch, cinnamon, ginger bread and coconut flavors. Apart from these, cupcake is also available in plain classic or butter cream toppings.
Cupcakes are prepared just like muffins. However paper plain or colored cases are used for baking instead of tins. Now let us actually get down on how to make cup cakes? There are some six to seven ingredients required in the process. We need to get fifty grams of self- raising flour, fifty grams of superfine caster sugar, fifty grams of margarine or shortening butter, and an egg. The above listed ingredients can be used to make ten to twelve pieces of small pieces. If more pieces are required all one needs to do is double or treble the amount of the ingredients.
The cream and butter is first mixed and then the egg is added. Later fruits or flavors according to choice are added. The next thing is to put the cream in the cases. The size of the cupcake depends on the baker who can either make small ones of two inch diameter or larger ones with more cream. The cupcakes are now cooked in an oven for fifteen minutes at one hundred and ninety degree Celsius. The larger the cupcake, the more time is required. These cupcakes can now be decorated by sugar icing, icing of lemon, oranges, coffee etc. Jam, butter with candies is also added occasionally. Once the cup cakes have cooled down, they are ready to be served and eaten.
Now that you have learned how to make cup cakes, it would be a crime not to try your hands at it. It really is not difficult once you get the hang of it, so, if you love cupcakes, it is easy to learn to bake them.

Cupcakes - Designer Style
Cupcakes have taken over the world. Those little wonders have been re-created in hundreds of different flavor combinations and served in shops all across the United States. With cute wrappers and funny sounding names, they tempt you with their size and keep you coming back for their incredible taste and texture. Their huge following will keep new shops opening up to capitalize on the demand for this delicious miniature treat.
The problem comes when you want something fancier than just frosting swirled on top. Many shops do not offer designer cupcakes or, if they do, they are at a price some are not willing to pay. What happens when you want to have designer cupcakes for an event? Create them at home.
For little girls, the sky is the limit. Dip a regular sized marshmallow into some melted chocolate, remove the excess and set on the center of a cupcake. Decorate the cupcake section with buttercream frosting like a tutu (use tip 104) or a dress in their favorite color.
For cupcake purses, put two regular sized cupcakes together end to end and cut the bottom with a serrated knife so that it sits level on the plate. Now you're ready to decorate with buttercream or fondant.
Like sparkles? Take your frosting covered cupcake and dip into sugar crystals. Use wax paper strips to section off your cupcake. All white sugar crystals would look like a sparkling light. Colored cupcakes lined up in rows would make a powerful statement on a table.
For a beautiful vase, put two cupcakes together top end to top end and frost. Chill and wrap with a strip of fondant. You can add fondant or buttercream flowers to the top.
Make baskets by adding jelly beans in the middle of your frosted cupcake and a basketweave fondant or frosting border around the edge. Take a thin piece of licorice and stick the ends down into the cupcake on either side to make the handle.
At craft stores, they have cake pans with four cavities that make miniature doll cakes. These are single serving sizes that you can add miniature doll picks to make special cakes for your little princess and her friends.
Chocolate is a woman's best friend. Want to make her happy? Take some chilled ganache, mold it into the shape of a marshmallow and dip it into melted mint chocolate and sit on the center of a chocolate cupcake. Decorate with chocolate buttercream frosting like a fancy dress, add a chocolate covered coffee bean on top, and you have a cupcake worthy of her taste buds. Want a different combination? The sky is the limit. Try lemon cake with cheesecake that has been frozen, and then cut out with miniature round cutters and set on top. Frost with whipping cream.
Surprise your guests by adding filling to your cupcakes. This makes them stand apart from anything store bought. Lemon filling can be spread over the cupcakes once they are cooled and then you can add your buttercream. Ganache can be made into different flavors and spread across your cupcake before frosting. Use different colored wrappers to keep track of all your different flavors.
Edible chocolate or hard candy jewels are available to add a little bling to your treats as well as fondant that can be rolled, cut out in disks or custom designs to make your occasion as special as the cupcake you made for it.
Need an idea for a boy's party or men? Boys and grown men would get excited over a cupcake bar. Use the mini loaf pans to make their cupcakes so it's not the same old round shape. Think Texas sized cupcakes for the man in your life who wants a "country slice." Crushed up Oreo cookies, cut-up Reese cups, gummi worms, chocolate syrup, caramel, whipped cream, and M&M's are just some of the things you could put out in small bowls to let them create the cupcake of their dreams.
Having a theme party? Use that same cake pan with four cavities for a boy's party, and you can make treasure sacks, adding M&M's as the treasure on top. Party stores have rings for theme parties and these can be inserted into the top for a great presentation. During the holidays, these same pans can be used to make Santa's sacks with red buttercream or fondant.
With just a little imagination, you can come up with a lot of designer cupcake designs that will make you glad you took the time to create them at home.
Have fun!

There's Always an Excuse For Cupcakes
Whether it is the middle of the summer, autumn, Christmas or a special day there is always an excuse for a cupcake.
There is nothing better than creating a special cupcake to make someones day extra special. My aim is to give you inspiration for the hundreds of ways to create and make cupcakes. Not only can you change the flavour of the cake itself, but change and add toppings to create a professional finish and a great taste.
Special Occasions
If you are looking for something different from your average cake, why not make individual cupcakes instead?
Not only can you decorate them to match someone's personality or taste, there is no mess trying to cut a large cake and get the slices even. Cup cakes are a great idea for Christenings where you can decorate with baby pink or blue and add sprinkles or iconic baby items such as sweet dummies. Tiered cupcakes are also different for a wedding, not only do they look beautiful, they can have the couples initials on or rings to represent their bond in marriage. There are some lovely stands out there to make it look even more impressive.
Seasonal Ideas
For Christmas why not make fruit cup cakes instead of your average Christmas cake. With green and red icing it is a great centre piece for your Christmas buffet. Use white icing or sprinkle icing sugar over the top to create a snowy effect.
For a spooky Halloween why not use orange and green icing. Or for extra fun add unusual centres so people to guess what flavour the cakes are, such as jelly, jam or chocolate sauce.
In the summer, nothing is nicer than a lemon cupcake. Light yet tasty and zesty to tickle those taste buds. The bright colours are also great fun for kids at parties and picnics.
If your stuck for time though and want the best why not look online for cupcakes and get them made for you. There are plenty of ranges out there to choose for you. Some will even customize to meet your needs.
Everyday Cupcakes
There are some great different toppings and flavours out there to make your cupcakes different. Butter cream adds a luxurious taste to your cup cake. Chocolate fudge for those chocolate lovers, with frosted fudge icing- delicious.
Victoria sandwich is an unusual yet popular cupcake. Almost like a mini version of a Victoria sandwich, but spreads a lot further! Adding smarties, sprinkles, buttons and sweets make the cakes really tempting and look nice.

How to Make Birthday Cupcakes
If you are wondering how to make cupcakes, then you should know that there are many resources floating all over the internet. Gone are the days when all you inherited were some handed-down recipes.
Now thanks to internet technology, you can tap on potential cupcake recipes from around the world within a single click. Recipes to make cupcakes are as many as you would have combinations. With the basic ingredients in all of them remaining pretty much the same - self rising or all purpose flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder and shortening, you can try out different ingredients and combos.
It is good to experiment in your spare time and set aside some good combos for special occasions. Having already tried your hand at the recipe you will not be at a dead end when confronted with the challenge. Here is a simple birthday extravaganza for a different kind of cupcake spread.
The Red Birthday Cupcakes Fare
Your ingredients include 2 1/2 cups of self rising or all purpose flour, 1/2 cup of powdered baking cocoa, 2 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon each of baking soda and baking powder, 1/2 cup butter, 5 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, 1 cup buttermilk (If for some reason you do not want to add the buttermilk or do not have any, you can replace the ingredient with a simple substitution - lemon juice/ white vinegar and milk) and a teaspoon of red food coloring.
Now in a large mixing bowl put together the self rising flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda. Sift and mix them well in the bowl and set aside. Now, separately, cream together the sugar and butter till the mix is fluffy and light in texture. To this mix, add the eggs one at a time. Keep mixing the eggs into the mix as you add each one. Now add the sifted dry ingredients to this creamed mixture along with the buttermilk, vanilla and food coloring.
Fill the cupcake pans with the red batter and bake them in for around 20 minutes. Ensure that the inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool the birthday extravaganza and then frost.
A few tries in the kitchen and you will stop asking - how to make cupcakes? The endeavor, at least on birthdays, not only gives you a gift item that no one is likely to forget in a long, long time, but also an indulgence that is very satisfying. The cakes are simple, tasty and a real treat for the eye. They go down like boot cakes making you a favorite with adults and children alike.
Preparing cupcakes for birthdays takes a lot of consideration, since the occasion is special and calls for frills. However, today there are a number of online and offline resources that allow you to investigate how to make cupcakes, 24/7. With a little research and a natural love for the art of baking, you are ready to become the delicatessen for the day! Cool, isn't it - give vent to your creativity.
