I was a little concerned after reading the reviews about getting this. But I did anyways. My 4 yr old niece wanted a giant cupcaje for her birthday. I adjusted my oven since it does run hotter then it should and just went from there. Everything came out perfect! I even used the filler mold and had no problems! We used icecream for the middle. Unfortunately the cake didn't last past 5 minutes after being decorated and the candles blown out. My mom & sister thought it would be great if littlee heads were pushed into the cupcake!

When I received this item I was surprised to see it was a silicone mold. I guess I didn't pay enough attention. I was also very surprised to see how small it actually was. Can't imagine it would serve more than about 8 people. I was skeptical of the silcone mold but was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use and how clean the release was. Very happy with the product.

Definitely not a reliable product and more like alchemy than baking. The recommended amounts are excessive when using a box mix. The temperatures suggested are excessive as well. Perhaps oven size plays a greater role in this product's success than usual baking equipment but my cupcake experiments have yielded not cupcakes but something more like crusty masses leaking pus-like batter. This was after baking the alloted time at various temperatures.
Alas, I cannot recommend this despite my love for cupcakes.

This cake pan was so cool! It was easy to use, didn't burn the cake, and extremely easy to clean!

My kids saw the ads for this on Nickelodeon and begged for it. I gave in for my daughter's 6th birthday. Our results were good, and when decorated the cake was great. We love it! A couple notes: the instructions provided with the set aren't great. They say that the bottom takes longer than the top to cook. I found the opposite to be true -- especially when using the insert. And if you do any cake mix doctoring the times can be very different from the instructions. I've baked it for as long as an hour (convection oven at 325 degrees, which matches 350 degrees in regular oven). The insert has worked well each time we use it, you do have to make sure it's snapped in all the way around. I never cut cake off the top layer before assembling, and it works fine. MORAL OF THE STORY: this works, just set your timer for the time on the box indicated for BUNDT cake (because it's thick like a bundt), test with a pick, be prepared to bake longer if needed until it tests done. It's so much fun to decorate and you get a great reaction when you serve it. Seems smaller than a cake, but it serves just as many. Don't let the size fool you.
